Lately our laundry room drain has had a sewage smell. Is this a city sewage problem, or is there something wrong with our plumbing in the house?
show answer...A: close answer...This usually means your p-trap is dry or almost dry. If you add a couple of cups of water to your floor drain your problem should be solved. If not then it could be a sign of something more serious and it should be checked out. Regards, Ed Van Dam - Q:
HelloI need to replace my current laundry tub which is 24 inch wide. What is the smallest width that I can get? I am hoping that there are tubs between 14 inch to 18inch so that I can make room to stack my washer and dryerThank youSean
show answer...A: close answer...Hi, you can get laundry tubs as small as 18" X 23" X 13" deep. This should work for your application. Ed - Q:
Our toilet does not want to stop running after it has been flushed. There is a floating blue disk that does not always move up to move the arm attached to it that stops the water from flowing. The toilet is about 7 yrs old.
show answer...A: close answer...Changing the flush valve assembly and flapper usually fix these problems. Things eventually stick or move/wear out. Note - never put chlorine pucks in a toilet tank. It ruins all of the parts.
Tip of the month
- August - Sump Pump
Do you have a sump pump in your basement? What happens if it fails? Have a water alarm installed to let you know that your pump has failed. It will save you money on flooding.
