Tips of the month

  1. August - Sump Pump
Do you have a sump pump in your basement? What happens if it fails? Have a water alarm installed to let you know that your pump has failed. It will save you money on flooding.

  2. Going on holidays?
If you are leaving your home for a few days or more, we recommend that you shut off your water main. This will prevent any damage if a leak occurs

  3. Rusty Water?
Rusty water coming out of your hot water tap when you first run the water is a sign of water heater failure. This means that your water is eating the anode rod inside of your tank as well as the tank itself.

  4. Water Heater Maintenance
Annual maintenance can add years to the life of your water heater. You would be surprised as to what will build up in your tank. It is as important as changing the oil in your car.

  5. April - Faucets
Faucets with washers should be turned off finger tight to increase the life of the cartridges. No need to crank them off with all your might. You will be doing more harm than good.

  6. Slow draining -
If your fixtures are draining slowly have your drains cleaned before the holiday season. It could save you a lot of embarrassment. You know that your drains will plug completely when your guests have arrived.

  7. Learn where your Main Water Shut Off is and how to use it. Make sure you have a quick closing valve that works. It can help in a panic!

Most recently answered questions

My upstairs bathroom toilet bubbles like a geyser when flushed (very annoying). Can you help?

The chances are that there is something lodged in the trap inside the toilet. Plunging may help but you will probably need to remove the toilet and try dislodging whatever it is. Sometimes it is impossible to remove an object that is wedged in very tight. If thsi is the case replacement is required. I can also suggest checking the drainline for a blockage. Hope this helps.

How much would you charge to clean out slow drains . . . really slow drains!

It depends on what is plugged and where. The average cost would be approximately $250.00. We can only confirm the price after we appraise the situation.
    Hope this helps,
